Modification of a seasonally oscillating growth function for use with mark-recapture data

Richard S. Appeldoorn

Department of Marine Sciences, University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez, Puerto Rico 00709

The Pauly—Gaschütz seasonally oscillating von Bertalanffy growth function is modified for use with data obtained from mark-recapture studies. Parameters are estimated by minimizing a sums-of-squares function using nonlinear regression. Threeexamples demonstrate the model and compare its results with other studies.
